“Midnight Crackdown in Yobe! 23 Suspects Nabbed as Police Storm Crime Hotspots — Drugs, ‘Suck and Die’ & Shocking Discoveries Exposed”

The heat is on in Yobe State as police operatives launched a dramatic crackdown that left dozens of suspects in handcuffs after a series of coordinated raids across notorious flashpoints in the state.

In what appears to be an all-out war against crime and drug-related activities, the Yobe State Police Command confirmed the arrest of 23 suspects during intelligence-driven operations carried out in different locations.

The shocking operation, revealed in a statement by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, saw security operatives storm suspected criminal hideouts with precision — and what they uncovered has left many talking.

According to police reports, one of the major raids happened on May 14, 2026, around midday, when officers attached to the Tarmuwa Division, working alongside local vigilante members, swept through Tashan Fulani Village in Tarmuwa Local Government Area.

The operation reportedly ended with the arrest of four suspects, who were allegedly caught with suspicious substances and drug-related items. Recovered materials included about two and a half bundles of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, packets of unidentified liquid substances, 10 litres of a dangerous mixture popularly called “Suck and Die,” alongside Tramadol and Enzol tablets.

But the drama did not stop there.

Just a day earlier, on May 13, police operatives from A Division Damaturu reportedly launched a fierce night patrol across parts of Damaturu town. The coordinated sting operation targeted areas security agencies have allegedly identified as criminal black spots, including Zango CMC, Mass Transit Area, and Jerusalem Ajayi.

By the end of the overnight operation, authorities had rounded up 19 additional suspects, made up of 14 men and five women.

Police say several suspicious substances were also recovered during the raids, including Tramadol capsules, Diazepam tablets, Exol, and dried leaves believed to be Indian hemp.

Authorities disclosed that all 23 suspects are currently undergoing screening and investigation, stressing that anyone found guilty of criminal involvement will face prosecution.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Usman Kanfani Jibrin, has reportedly ordered tactical teams to intensify operations and maintain pressure on criminal networks hiding across the state.

He also urged residents to stay alert and continue supporting security agencies with credible information, emphasizing that public cooperation remains key in tackling crime and suspicious activities in communities.

With the latest arrests sparking reactions, many residents are now wondering — is this the beginning of a major cleanup in Yobe, or just the tip of the iceberg?
