Media personality Toke Makinwa has melted hearts with an emotional video chronicling her daughter’s journey from the day she was born to her first birthday.

The proud mother shared the touching montage as she continues to celebrate her daughter, who recently clocked one.

Reflecting on the milestone, Toke admitted that her daughter turning one had left her emotional and overwhelmed with gratitude.

She also thanked everyone who travelled to London to celebrate her daughter and those who sent prayers, messages, calls and well wishes.

In her heartfelt message to God, she wrote:

“Our hearts are bursting with gratitude. My baby girl turned 1 this weekend, and I have felt all of the emotions. How do I have a one-year-old? She’s so perfect.”

Toke went on to thank God for the blessing of motherhood, describing Him as a “good, good father.”

On Friday, August 7, the media personality officially introduced her daughter, Yakira Eliana, to the world as she celebrated her first birthday.

She subsequently shared a series of beautiful photos of her daughter, describing her as her greatest blessing and saying that the world has become brighter because of her presence.

She also revealed how her daughter came into her life and changed everything, saying the experience of motherhood has made her deeply obsessed with her little girl.

A year of motherhood

Toke welcomed her first child last year at the age of 40, marking a major new chapter in her life.

The media personality has previously spoken about how motherhood transformed her personality and lifestyle.

She noted that pregnancy kept her indoors for much of the year, a major change for someone who normally enjoys being outdoors.

On Mother’s Day, Toke celebrated the joy of receiving personalised messages because of her daughter, describing the little girl as someone who makes motherhood feel easy.
