Afrobeats superstar Davido has claimed that the United States Government has contacted him following his recent concerns about the forthcoming Osun State governorship election.
The singer had previously called on US President Donald Trump to pay attention to developments surrounding the election, raising concerns about possible violence, intimidation and actions that could undermine the credibility of the electoral process.
Davido reveals US contact
Taking to X, Davido announced that he had received a response from the US side, although he did not disclose who contacted him or provide details of the communication.
He wrote:
“Dem don reach out ooooo. DEY PLAY! U think the rest of the world is undemocratic like Una! Una go see something.”
The singer did not explain what was discussed or reveal whether the US Government intends to take any specific action concerning the election.
Concerns over Osun election
Davido has remained outspoken about the political situation in Osun, particularly because his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, is seeking re-election.
He has repeatedly urged voters to reject the APC while campaigning for his uncle and has also criticised opposition figures on social media.
His latest claim comes as political activities intensify ahead of the August 15, 2026 Osun governorship election.
The singer’s revelation has already generated reactions online, with many Nigerians waiting to see whether the alleged communication from US officials will lead to any further development concerning the election.
