Nigerian social media activist VeryDarkMan has challenged Afrobeats star Davido to speak up during the 2027 general elections, particularly if he still believes Nigerians are tired of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

VeryDarkMan questioned Davido’s current relationship with the ruling party, recalling the singer’s vocal involvement during the Osun State governorship election when he supported his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke.

VeryDarkMan reminds Davido of his past activism

The activist argued that Davido was highly active in criticising the APC when his family was directly involved in the Osun election.

He said:

“When them dey fight for your uncle, APC na devil. APC bad. You were actively campaigning against APC because your uncle, your family was involved.”

VeryDarkMan also accused the singer of appearing to have changed his position, alleging that Davido is now associating with members of the same political party he previously criticised.

‘I’ll be waiting for Davido in 2027’

VeryDarkMan said he would be watching Davido closely during the 2027 election season to see whether the singer would use his massive platform to express his political position.

“I will just be waiting for Davido in 2027 elections. That’s when I’ll be waiting for David.”

He questioned whether Davido would maintain the same energy he demonstrated during the Osun election.

‘I hope your voice will be loud’

The activist further challenged the singer to speak openly if he believes Nigerians are dissatisfied with the APC.

“I hope say in 2027 your voice go loud.”

He added that Davido had previously used social media to mobilise attention and support for his uncle during the election, and argued that the singer should equally speak out in 2027 if he wants Nigerians to reject the APC.

“I hope we will hear you that time.”

VeryDarkMan’s comments have added another layer to the growing conversation around celebrities, political activism and the role of influential public figures ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 elections.
