“Darkness Loading? Armed Robbers Storm Ogbomoso Power Station in Daring Midnight Heist — Residents Left in Shock!”

Fear and confusion swept through parts of Ogbomoso, Oyo State, after suspected armed robbers reportedly launched a brazen attack on a major power substation, making away with valuable electrical components in a shocking overnight operation.

According to reports, the criminals—said to be about six in number—stormed the 132KVA power substation located at Temidire/Ajeja along Ikirun Road, leaving workers and residents stunned by the boldness of the attack.

Sources revealed that the heavily armed gang allegedly invaded the facility on Monday, equipped with dangerous weapons and specialized tools believed to have been used in dismantling and carting away critical equipment from the station.

The daring operation has sparked concerns over the security of vital infrastructure in the ancient city, with many residents wondering how such a sensitive government facility could be targeted so easily.

A security guard attached to the station, who chose to remain anonymous, reportedly confirmed the unfortunate incident, though details surrounding the full extent of the damage remain sketchy.

In response to the alarming development, chiefs from the palace of the Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Afolabi Olaoye, reportedly paid a visit to the affected power station to assess the situation firsthand.

Officials from the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), particularly from the Ganmo station expected to connect with the Temidire power station, were also said to have rushed to the scene for an urgent inspection.

Among the top engineers reportedly present during the emergency assessment were Adetunji, Afusat Umar Muazu, and Adetoyinbo A. Adekunle.

As of Tuesday morning, authorities had yet to reveal the exact worth of the stolen equipment, while the suspects were said to have escaped without immediate arrest.

With investigations likely underway, residents are anxiously watching to see whether the stolen components will affect electricity supply in the area—or if the robbers will eventually be tracked down.
