“Shocking Betrayal! Neighbour Allegedly Leads Gang to Kidnap 8-Year-Old Boy in Katsina — See the Millions Police Recovered”

Fear and outrage have gripped residents of Katsina after police uncovered a disturbing kidnapping case involving an innocent eight-year-old boy — and the shocking twist? The alleged mastermind was reportedly someone the family knew too well.

The Katsina State Police Command confirmed the arrest of six suspected kidnappers believed to be part of a dangerous seven-man gang accused of abducting the young boy in Katsina city.

According to reports, the heartbreaking incident happened on May 13, 2026, while the child was reportedly returning home from an Islamic school. What started as a normal day quickly turned into every parent’s worst nightmare after the boy mysteriously disappeared.

Barely 24 hours after the abduction, the suspects allegedly contacted the devastated family and demanded a staggering ₦50 million ransom for the child’s release. After intense negotiations and emotional pressure, the family was said to have paid ₦17 million to secure the safe return of their son.

Acting on intelligence, operatives from the police’s newly established Violent Crime Response Unit launched a manhunt and successfully arrested six suspects on May 23.

Police identified the suspects as Nura Aliyu, who was allegedly the mastermind and shockingly said to be a neighbour of the victim’s family, alongside Abubakar Aminu, Ibrahim Muhammad, Iliyasu Sani, Abubakar Muhammad, and Abdullahi Isma’il. One suspect simply identified as Abdul is still reportedly on the run.

During interrogation, authorities said the arrested suspects allegedly confessed to their involvement in the kidnapping and pointed fingers at the fleeing accomplice.

In a major breakthrough, police also recovered ₦7.5 million believed to be part of the ransom money, along with a Peugeot 307 vehicle and a Boxer motorcycle allegedly linked to the operation.

Reacting to the development, Katsina State Commissioner of Police, Ali Umar Fage, praised officers for the successful operation and reassured residents that security agencies remain committed to crushing kidnapping and violent crimes across the state.

As news of the arrest spreads, many Nigerians are once again raising serious concerns about trust, security, and the growing fear of kidnappers hiding in plain sight — even among familiar faces.
