“Ibadan Palace Raises Alarm! ‘Enough Is Enough’ — Olubadan Blasts Rising Kidnapping, Sends Strong Message to Govt”

Fear and tension are growing across Nigeria as the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, has openly expressed deep concern over the shocking rise in kidnapping and violent crimes sweeping through the country.

The respected traditional ruler did not hold back as he reportedly described the current security situation as deeply disturbing, warning that Nigerians are increasingly living in fear due to the growing wave of abductions, killings, and violent attacks.

Speaking during the installation ceremony of several Mogajis (family heads) and Baales in Ibadan on Monday, the monarch reportedly raised serious alarm over what many citizens have also been complaining about for months — insecurity appears to be getting worse.

The grand ceremony, which took place at the Olubadan Palace in the Oke Aremo area of Ibadan, attracted top personalities, members of the Olubadan-in-Council, and dignitaries from different places. No fewer than 14 Mogajis and seven Baales were officially installed during the event.

However, beyond the celebration, the atmosphere reportedly turned serious when the monarch, speaking through the Balogun of Ibadanland, Tajudeen Ajibola, expressed worry over the increasing cases of kidnapping and other social crimes troubling communities.

In a statement reportedly signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Olubadan, Chief Solomon Ayoade, the monarch urged governments at all levels, traditional rulers, and major stakeholders to stop watching from the sidelines and take urgent action before the situation spirals further out of control.

The Olubadan also reportedly appealed to the Oyo State Government under Governor Seyi Makinde and local government authorities to begin profiling foreigners entering and leaving the state. According to him, such a move could help strengthen security monitoring and improve safety for residents.

As insecurity continues to dominate headlines, many Nigerians are now asking the same tough question: How much longer can citizens continue living in fear?
