For more than 40 terrifying days, three kidnapped victims lived through a nightmare in the hands of their captors—until a dramatic security operation brought their ordeal to an end.
The Kaduna State Police Command has successfully rescued three abducted individuals who had been held captive for over a month, while also arresting five suspected informants accused of helping a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorize communities across the state.
According to police authorities, the breakthrough came after weeks of intelligence gathering, surveillance, and coordinated efforts by security operatives. A joint team made up of officers from the Fushin Kada Division and the Hunkuyi Division launched a carefully planned operation targeting a suspected bandits’ hideout.
As security forces closed in on the location, the kidnappers reportedly panicked and fled the scene, abandoning their captives behind. The victims were rescued unharmed and immediately taken to a medical facility for evaluation before being reunited with their relieved families.
The rescued victims were identified as Ekechikwu Omale, Ummi Salisu from Kudan Local Government Area of Kaduna State, and Pastor Daniel Tanko Bawa from Tufa Village in neighbouring Niger State.
But the shocking twist didn’t end there.
Police also arrested five individuals suspected of acting as informants for the kidnappers. Investigators believe the suspects supplied critical information and logistical support that helped facilitate the abductions. Authorities say interrogations are ongoing as they work to uncover the full extent of the criminal network.
Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad, praised the officers involved in the successful mission, describing the operation as a major victory achieved through professionalism, dedication, and collaboration among security agencies.
He assured residents that the command remains determined to dismantle kidnapping gangs operating within the state and vowed that all accomplices and fleeing suspects would be tracked down and brought to justice.
The dramatic rescue has sparked renewed hope among residents who continue to face security challenges, while many are applauding the security agencies for delivering a rare victory against kidnappers in the region.
