“Drama in Ondo! Couple Caught After Allegedly Raiding Ex-Speaker’s Mansion—See What Amotekun Recovered Before It Reached Lagos”

The Ondo State Security Network Agency, popularly known as Amotekun Corps, has arrested a young couple over their alleged involvement in a burglary at the country residence of former Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Jumoke Akindele.

The suspects, identified as 28-year-old Samson Osowe and his 22-year-old wife, Ayo Oguneso, were apprehended after intelligence-led investigations traced several stolen items to a transporter who was allegedly preparing to move them from Okitipupa to Lagos for sale.

According to Amotekun, seven stolen mobile phones and other valuables taken during the midnight break-in were successfully recovered before they could be smuggled out of the state. The agency also confirmed the arrest of the transporter, who was allegedly part of the chain used to move the stolen property.

While parading the suspects, the Commander of the Ondo Amotekun Corps, Adetunji Adeleye, disclosed that all the recovered phones had been retrieved and would be returned to their rightful owner after due legal procedures.

He explained that investigations had expanded beyond the initial suspects, revealing a wider network of individuals allegedly linked to similar criminal activities in the area. Adeleye assured residents that everyone connected to the case would be brought to justice, adding that the suspects would be arraigned in court without delay.

Reacting to the incident, former Speaker Jumoke Akindele confirmed that the burglary took place in the early hours of Sunday. She revealed that expensive mobile phones, personal belongings, and other valuables were stolen, while several windows in the house were damaged during the operation.

Akindele praised the swift response of the Amotekun Corps, describing the security outfit as a shining example of why state police should be established across Nigeria. She commended the leadership of Commandant Adetunji Adeleye, saying the successful recovery of her stolen belongings demonstrated the corps’ professionalism, courage, and commitment to protecting lives and property.

She added that investigations are still ongoing, with several suspects already in Amotekun custody as authorities continue efforts to dismantle the criminal network behind the burglary.
