A horrifying tragedy has rocked residents of Edjeba Community in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State after a suspected internet fraudster allegedly murdered and beheaded his girlfriend inside his apartment.
According to reports, the shocking incident occurred on Ajidi Street, where the suspect is said to have used a knife to sever the young woman’s head in a gruesome attack that has left the community in disbelief.
The horrifying crime reportedly came to light after the landlord heard loud screams coming from the apartment. Alarmed by the disturbance, he immediately alerted the police, who swiftly responded to the scene.
During a search of the apartment, officers reportedly discovered the victim’s headless body and arrested the suspect on the spot. The deceased’s remains have since been evacuated to a morgue as detectives continue their investigation into the disturbing case.
Residents disclosed that the victim had been seen just a day earlier happily returning from the market with food items, allegedly intending to prepare a meal for her boyfriend. Sadly, what appeared to be an ordinary visit turned into a heartbreaking tragedy less than 24 hours later.
Neighbours described the couple as regular lovers who were often seen together cruising around the area in the suspect’s white Lexus SUV, making the shocking incident even more difficult for many to comprehend.
Confirming the incident, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, stated that the suspect is currently in police custody while investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the gruesome killing.
The disturbing incident has sparked outrage across social media, with many Nigerians demanding swift justice for the deceased and calling for a thorough investigation into the motive behind the alleged murder.
