BUSTED! Edo Security Corps Cracks Down on Crime, Arrests Over 10 Suspects in Major Security Sweep
Residents of Edo State are reacting after operatives of the Edo State Security Corps (ESSC) launched a major crackdown that led to the arrest of more than 10 suspects linked to various criminal activities across the state.
The suspects were apprehended during coordinated operations carried out over the weekend following credible intelligence gathered by the security outfit.
Speaking to journalists in Benin City, the Deputy Commander of Operations, Richard Balogun, revealed that those arrested are being investigated for alleged offences ranging from theft and armed robbery to fraud.
According to Balogun, preliminary investigations indicate that several of the suspects have confessed to their involvement in the alleged crimes, a development that further strengthened the case against them.
He disclosed that all the suspects have since been transferred to the Nigeria Police for comprehensive investigation and possible prosecution in accordance with the law.
The latest operation highlights the ongoing efforts by security agencies in Edo State to clamp down on criminal activities and improve public safety. Authorities have also urged residents to continue providing useful information that can help security operatives track down criminal elements and maintain peace across the state.
