” Bloodbath in Kano! Young Man Butchered in Brutal Midnight Gang Attack as Family Cries Out Over Alleged Police Inaction”

Residents of Kano were thrown into shock after a suspected gang attack turned deadly, leaving a young man, Umar Halilu Babatuwa, fatally wounded in a horrifying late-night assault.

The tragic incident reportedly unfolded on Sunday night along the road linking Dan Agundi and Nassarawa in Kano metropolis, where suspected gang members allegedly launched a violent attack that left several residents fleeing for safety.

According to Umar’s elder brother, Aliyu Halilu, the victim left their family home in Dan Agundi around 10:00 p.m., unaware that it would be his final outing. Moments later, he was rushed back home with multiple stab wounds and deep machete cuts said to have been inflicted during the attack.

Despite desperate efforts by family members to save his life by rushing him to the hospital, Umar later died from the severe injuries he sustained.

Describing the terrifying ordeal, Aliyu claimed that a large group of armed attackers descended on the area, assaulting anyone in their path.

«”About 200 of them stormed the area and attacked people. We do not know exactly who carried out the attack. The way they treated us, may Allah judge them as well,” he said.»

The grieving brother also alleged that while transporting Umar to the hospital, they encountered police officers but were unable to get immediate assistance or an escort to help speed up emergency medical care.

Overwhelmed with grief and frustration, Aliyu questioned the value of reporting such incidents, arguing that many lives had already been lost without visible justice.

«”Even if you say we should report to the government, how many people have been killed already and what has the government done? We have left everything to Allah,” he lamented.»

The bereaved family has appealed to the Kano State Government and security agencies to launch a thorough investigation into the attack, identify those responsible, and strengthen security in the affected communities to prevent further bloodshed.

As of the time this report was filed, the Kano State Police Command had not released an official statement regarding the incident.
