A shocking case of alleged child abuse has sparked outrage in Bauchi State after police arrested a 50-year-old man accused of defiling a nine-year-old girl in Bulkachuwa, Katagum Local Government Area.
The Bauchi State Police Command confirmed that the suspect, identified as Muhammadu Audu, is currently in custody while investigations continue into the disturbing incident.
According to police authorities, the case was reported on June 15, 2026, after the victim’s father alleged that the suspect lured his daughter while she was hawking soya bean cakes on June 14. The suspect allegedly took the child to an uncompleted building, where the offence was said to have occurred.
The young victim was immediately taken to the Primary Health Care Centre in Bulkachuwa for medical examination and treatment.
