” Horror in Yobe! Gunmen Snatch Four Teenage Girls—What Police and Vigilantes Did Next Will Shock You”

Fear gripped residents of Didim Village in Yobe State after armed men reportedly stormed the community and abducted four teenage girls in a brazen daylight attack. However, the kidnappers’ mission was cut short following a swift rescue operation by security operatives and local vigilantes.

The Yobe State Police Command confirmed that the incident occurred on Saturday, June 28, 2026, at about 2:23 p.m. in Didim Village, located in Fika Local Government Area. The victims, four girls aged between 15 and 17, were forcefully taken by suspected kidnappers before emergency responders launched a rescue mission.

According to the Command’s spokesperson, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, officers at the Fika Divisional Police Headquarters received a distress call and immediately deployed operatives from the Kukar Gadu Outstation alongside local vigilantes to pursue the attackers. Additional reinforcements were later sent to strengthen the operation.

Their rapid response paid off as all four girls were successfully rescued alive and without injuries. The victims were immediately taken to the Kukar Gadu Primary Health Care Centre for medical evaluation and necessary care before being reunited with their relieved families.

Meanwhile, the suspected kidnappers managed to escape, prompting an ongoing manhunt by security agencies.

Yobe State Commissioner of Police, Usman Kanfani Jibrin, has ordered intelligence-driven operations to track down every member of the fleeing gang and ensure they are brought to justice.

The Police Command also appealed to residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious individuals, vehicles, or activities, stressing that timely information from the public remains crucial in the fight against crime.
