Sweden legend Zlatan Ibrahimović has sparked massive reactions after brutally analysing Sweden’s crushing 3–0 defeat to France in their World Cup 2026 Round of 32 clash — and his words are not holding back.
France delivered a ruthless performance on Tuesday night, sweeping past Sweden to secure a comfortable place in the Round of 16. The star of the show was Kylian Mbappé, who netted a brilliant brace, while Bradley Barcola added the finishing touch to complete the demolition job.
But it was Ibrahimović’s post-match reaction that stole headlines.
Speaking on Fox Sports, the iconic striker admitted Sweden started well but completely collapsed in structure and discipline as the match progressed — especially in defence.
According to him, Sweden looked stable for only the first 15–20 minutes before everything fell apart.
He didn’t stop there.
Ibrahimović praised the tactical changes made by coach Graham Potter, noting the switch to a back four and the introduction of two strikers, Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyökeres, as a more effective approach — but insisted he is “not the coach” and left final judgment open.
However, his most explosive comment came when assessing France’s overall strength.
Despite Sweden’s defeat, Ibrahimović admitted the French side looks terrifyingly strong going forward in the tournament, warning that what he witnessed was “scary.”
France now march into the Round of 16 with growing confidence, while Sweden are left to reflect on a painful exit and defensive collapse that cost them dearly.
