Grammy-winning Nigerian music sensation Tems has finally opened up about her love life, and her surprising confession is already sparking conversations across social media.
The award-winning singer revealed that dating a fellow Nigerian celebrity is simply not something she sees herself doing, explaining that she views her male colleagues as family rather than potential romantic partners.
Tems made the revelation during an interview at the BET Awards over the weekend after being asked whether she would ever make a move on Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, who has been gaining attention online for his good looks.
Responding with a smile, the “Love Me Jeje” hitmaker clarified that although she knows who Maduka Okoye is, they have never met personally. She added that even if they did, making the first move isn’t something she would do.
According to the singer, Nigerian celebrities have built a close-knit relationship over the years, making it difficult for her to view any of her male colleagues as romantic interests.
“I know who Maduka Okoye is, but I don’t know him personally. I wish I did, though. But shooting shots at him, we don’t do that over here,” she said.
Tems further explained that the entertainment industry in Nigeria feels like one big family to her, stressing that she sees her fellow male celebrities as brothers.
