Former Big Brother Naija housemate Erica Nlewedim has opened up about the emotional toll she experienced after participating in the reality show, revealing that she eventually sought professional help.
The actress and reality star made the revelation during an interview with media personality Toke Makinwa, where she reflected on her experience on the show and its impact on her life.
Erica speaks on her BBNaija experience
Erica said she would never participate in a reality show like BBNaija again, despite being grateful for the opportunities the programme created for her.
According to her, the financial benefits and career opportunities were significant, but the constant criticism she received afterwards had a lasting effect on her.
She revealed that she endured years of insults and eventually had to see a therapist.
“I’ll never go to a show like Big Brother Naija again in my life. I’m happy I did it because, of course, it changed my life money-wise, but I’m never doing it again if I’m given the opportunity.”
Erica added:
“I was getting like 3 years of back-to-back insults. I had to see a therapist because of that show.”
Erica’s life after BBNaija
Since leaving the reality show, Erica has built a successful career in entertainment.
She has featured in several Nollywood movies and commercials and has secured endorsement deals with various Nigerian brands. She has also ventured into the beauty industry with her own skincare business.
Despite the difficult experiences she associates with BBNaija, Erica acknowledged that appearing on the show significantly changed her life financially and professionally.
The actress has also previously spoken about family matters and personal experiences, including her decision to reconcile with her previously absent father rather than hold on to resentment.
