A Nigerian man has sparked a heated conversation online after sharing the story of how his cousin’s marriage allegedly collapsed just three days after their wedding ceremony.
In a viral TikTok video, the man claimed that the issue started after the bride reportedly pressured her husband to share their wedding pictures and videos on social media.
According to him, the groom was initially reluctant because he preferred keeping his personal life private and explained that he was not a content creator who needed to post everything online.
The narrator alleged that the bride became suspicious and threatened to leave the marriage if the wedding content was not posted.
“She told my cousin that if he doesn’t post it by Monday, she will leave the marriage. She said maybe somebody is having a child for him or he’s hiding another woman somewhere,” he claimed.
He said family members later stepped in and encouraged the groom to upload the wedding video in order to avoid further disagreement between the couple.
However, according to the story, the situation reportedly became more complicated after the post went public.
The man claimed that some of the groom’s customers allegedly contacted him with information about the bride, including claims about a previous relationship.
One person, he alleged, claimed to have dated the bride before the marriage and reportedly provided evidence to support the claim.
The revelation allegedly created more conflict between the couple, eventually leading to the reported end of the marriage just days after their wedding.
“After spending over ₦15 million on the wedding, the whole marriage ended in just three days,” he said.
The story has attracted mixed reactions online, with many users debating issues surrounding trust, privacy, social media expectations and communication between couples.
However, the claims remain the account of the narrator and have not been independently verified.
