
A shocking and disturbing incident has thrown Kaduna State into the spotlight after an enraged mob allegedly invaded a police station, forcefully seized a woman accused of kidnapping, and brutally killed her before setting her body ablaze.
According to the Kaduna State Police Command, the tragic event unfolded in Maraban Jos when officers received an emergency distress call reporting that a woman was being attacked by a crowd over allegations of kidnapping.
Police operatives reportedly rushed to the scene and successfully rescued the woman from the angry mob. She was immediately taken into protective custody at the police station while authorities began preliminary investigations into the allegations against her.
However, the situation soon spiraled out of control.
In a dramatic turn of events, hundreds of agitated residents allegedly surrounded the police facility, overwhelmed officers on duty, and forcefully removed the woman from custody. The mob then reportedly killed her and set her remains on fire in a gruesome act that has sparked outrage.
Reacting to the incident, the Kaduna State Police Command strongly condemned the attack, describing it as a barbaric act of lawlessness and a direct assault on justice and due process.
Police spokesperson DSP Mansir Hassan stated that no individual or group has the authority to take the law into their own hands, regardless of the allegations against any suspect. He emphasized that every accused person deserves to face proper investigation and legal proceedings.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Muhammad, also issued a stern warning against mob justice, stressing that attacks on police personnel and facilities would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Authorities confirmed that several suspects linked to the violent attack have already been arrested, while security operatives continue to hunt for other individuals involved in the incident.
The police further assured residents that a full-scale investigation is underway and vowed that everyone connected to the shocking killing would be identified, arrested, and prosecuted according to the law.
As the manhunt intensifies, the tragic incident has reignited conversations about the dangers of jungle justice and the growing challenge of mob violence across parts of the country.
